Established in the year 2004 by the Padmashree awardee, Dr. Bala V Balachandran, Professor Emeritus at Kellogg School of Management, Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai is a private self-financing institute. Great Lakes Chennai has received the AMBA, UK accreditation and it has also been accredited by the South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. Great Lakes Chennai campus spreads over 27 acres of land.  The Great Lakes Institute of Management has been ranked 24th in the management category in NIRF rankings 2021.
