Manipal University (MAHE) was established in 1953 as a Manipal University and is now known as Manipal Academy of Higher Education, (MAHE). It is a Deemed-to-be University, approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Manipal University is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The campus of MAHE is spread across 648 acres. The university offers 80 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various disciplines. These disciplines cover medicine, engineering, pharmacy, management, dentistry, humanities, communication, life science, nursing, architecture, European studies, foreign language and allied health. The university has secured 18th rank in the architecture category, 7th in the university category, 27th rank in research category and 15th in the overall category in NIRF 2021 Ranking. 

The university conducts Manipal Entrance Test (MET) for admission to its various courses. Manipal Academy of Higher Education has collaborations with various universities. The university also has clubs and committees for the students so that they can participate in extracurricular activities. The varsity provides various facilities to the students and staff. MAHE students can also avail scholarships offered by the university.

The university is located at Tiger Circle Road, Madhav Nagar, Manipal, Karnataka. The nearest airport to the university is Mangalore International Airport that is around 63.2 km away and takes an hour and a half by road. The closest railway station to Manipal University is Udupi Railway Station which is 3.7 km away. Alternatively, students can also come by Mangalore Railway Station which is 65 km away from Manipal as it is well connected by air, rail and road. The university has a bus stop in its name which is Manipal Bus Stop.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education Clubs, Committees and Societies

Mafia Music and Fine Arts Club: Manipal University Mafia Music and Fine Arts Club provide a platform to the students to showcase their talent in music, dance other fine arts. 

Society for Personality Development: This club organises various activities and events to bring out the best in students that enhance personality traits.

Anna Club: This club conducts one play each semester and involves every student in production or backstage help and acting.

Red-X (Redefining Excel-Lence Manipal Academy of Higher Education): MAHE Red-X club covers activities like adventures, IQ, social and automobile events.

Astronomy Club: The club regularly organises various programmes and activities on astronomy which include workshops, night skywatch, talks on astronomical documentaries and films. 

Rotaract Club: Manipal University Rotaract Club develops professional and leadership skills among the students, to emphasise respect and the rights of others.

Leo Club: The club creates social awareness among students of MAHE, and gives them a platform to showcase their literary and cultural talent.

MAHE Facilities

The university provides a wide range of facilities to its students. MAHE facilities are modern and upgraded as per the latest standard. The varsity has a library, health centre, hostels, cafeteria etc. The university has separate hostels for both boys and girls. Hostel rooms are well-furnished and provide a comfortable environment to the students. MAHE library is spread over 13,950 sq. metres. The library has a wide range of books, national and international journals, magazines, etc. The sporting facilities of Manipal University accommodate a wide range of activities such as cricket, badminton, basketball, swimming pool and indoor table tennis are also available to students. Manipal Academy of Higher Education Courses

The university offers a total of 80 courses. MAHE courses are offered at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A few of the programmes offered by the university are B.Arch, B.B.A, B.Sc., M.Arch, M.Com etc. Manipal University courses are offered in regular mode. MAHE Admission

The university offers admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Manipal University admissions is offered based on the basis of entrance exam conducted by the university and merit of the last qualifying examination. The varsity accepts NATA score for admission to the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) programme. As per the Manipal Academy of Higher Education admission procedure, candidates also need to appear for a personal interview conducted by the university.  However, some technical courses require the student to appear for the departmental test (DT). • Appear for NATA and obtain a valid score.

• Meet the eligibility criteria and apply for admission.

• The university selects candidates based on 50% weightage of qualifying exam marks and 50% weightage of NATA.

MAHE Scholarship

The university offers a wide range of scholarships to students. Manipal Academy of Higher Education Scholarships are awarded to meritorious students. There are various scholarships available for students of various streams. The students who have enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes can avail Manipal University scholarships. For UG courses, the students who have scored 80% marks in 10+2 examination will be eligible for Scholar Scholarship and the students who have scored 65% marks in a system of awarding marks or a minimum annual CGPA of 8.0 in a 10 point grading system will be eligible for Achiever Scholarship. For PG courses, students who have scored 70% in UG in 1st-year will be eligible for Scholar Scholarship while the students who have secured 65% marks in a system of awarding marks or a minimum annual CGPA of 8.0 in a 10 point grading system will be awarded Achiever Scholarship. 20% fee waiver will be awarded to the students who will achieve these scholarships.

MAHE Placements

All the placement activities of the college are handled by its placement cell. Manipal University placement cell is responsible for conducting placement drive at the campus. Further, it also conducts seminars and workshops to provide training to the students. MAHE placement cell also organises mock interviews, guest lectures for the students. The cell ensures that the students are placed in reputed organisations. Along with the placement opportunities, students of the university are also offered summer internship. Every year companies such as Accenture, KPMG, Philips etc. participate in the placement drive of the university.
